Our state-of-the-art water treatment works near Maidstone is entering its final stages, with the project expected to finish in late 2025.
We’ve invested more than £39 million in the new facility which will be capable of providing up to 20 million litres of fresh, top-quality drinking water daily to areas surrounding Ashford and Maidstone in Kent.
During the past year, significant progress has been made, including the building of the main treatment building which houses pumps, an ultraviolet disinfection system and large filters used for removing hydrocarbons from the water.
Contact tanks have been installed elsewhere, and several boreholes, the water source for the plant, have been drilled around the site and are almost ready to start providing water to the treatment works.
