How we're doing
against previous target
We want to make sure our operations don’t harm the environment.
Strict rules exist to protect our environment and we always do our best to follow them when we use discharge permits.
This measure is reported on a calendar year basis.
In 2025 we had a target to achieve 100 per cent compliance. There is a deadband built into this measure, which means that there is no financial penalty for the equivalent of one site failure. If we exceed this deadband we will receive a financial penalty.
How have we performed?
During 2025 there were four site failures which means we achieved 92.45 per cent compliance. As we experienced more than one site failure we have incurred a £2.24 million penalty payment.
Although we had site failures, there was no material impact on the environment.
