In April 2025 and September 2025 we opened the doors to our Bray Keleher Water Treatment Works in Berkshire and our Arlington Water Treatment Works, alongside our Arlington Reservoir, in Sussex.

We welcomed around 100 customers to our sites providing Berkshire and Sussex customers with the opportunity for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into how river and ground water is transformed into wholesome drinking water and pumped to homes and businesses.

Visitors were offered a guided tour of the treatment process, and also the inside track on how South East Water finds and fixes leaks across its 9,000 miles of pipes. Those visiting also discovered how our dedicated laboratory in Farnborough carries out more than a million tests each year to maintain the water at the highest quality and the important work of our environment team to protect and enhance the flora and fauna across our supply area.

100% of attendees said their understanding of extraction, the water treatment process, quality and the supply from source to tap had increased.

Customers comments included:

“Well organised, informative and friendly”

“I was impressed by all the presenters, all knowledgeable and passionate”

“Excellent and interesting open day session. Clearly explained to cover all aspects in a way that can be easily grasped by us all. Thank you to the team for effort to make it happen”

Due to the popularity of the tours, we have increased the number of days the tours will run for in 2026 from one to two, to ensure as many customers as possible can visit the sites. 2026 tours are taking place in Berkshire, Sussex and Kent and full details can be found here(opens in a new tab).
